Nº-4 ------ The general lighting is found to be satisfactory with the special Marchal bulbs that I had manufactured some time back for the car used to patrol and supervise the Le Mans track, and fitted over here. We propose in addition to these, having a Marchal centre lamp where we now have the air intake (cold air) which, undoubtedly will be suppressed with the Le Mans head. Our Electrician, who is an excellent fellow, can be kept available during the 24-Hours. FLOORBOARDS- Any cracks in the floor-boards that can be properly sealed up, should be, thus avoiding draughts and exhaust fumes in the car. BONNET- It is suggested that the sides of the Bonnet should be cut away and replaced by wire netting. If this is well done and chromium plated, the client will probably be delighted. VENTILATION OF CAR- Some means will have to be found to prevent the rear quarter windows from closing at speed. MEN- One man should be sent from Derby, and the other can be supplied from Paris. Dunlops can be made to supply four people so that they will be responsible for changing over all wheels. One mechanic can be reserved for attention to the engine and mechanical accessories, and the other could be utilised say for the superintending of refuelling and filling up with oil and water when necessary. Would "Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}" please let "Sr" know as soon as possible definitely whether we are to supply four men (viz-I mechanic and 3 others for general work such as jacking up car for wheel changing etc. as if so, we will have to train these men for the job. ooooooo | ||
