X.3031 - MAGNALIUM METAL
X.3032 - LIGHT ALUMINIUM ALLOYS (GENERAL)

With reference to your memo R1/B4417, re Tensile Tests of aluminium alloys, Mr. Hall himself conducted these tensile tests, and will, therefore, have copies of all the data sent to you. In other cases in which Mr. Hall is interested we send him copies.

We endeavouring to obtain from Mr. Kesterton a report in writing, of the comparative casting properties of the various alloys which we have so far tested. Otherwise we will talk over this matter with him and record the results ourselves.

The R.A.F. alloy which you referred to in your foot note has already been instructed for the complete set of tests, as for the other alloys.

We have also to hand results of the Upton Lewis tests with the two samples of magn-lium recently obtained. We shall endeavour to let you have these in the course of a day or two. The specific gravities of these two samples are 2.75 and 2.81. Further details with the diagrams.
