TO DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} R.{Sir Henry Royce} FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} RG.{Mr Rowledge} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} (At Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence.) ORIGINAL R2/MS.3.27. REC'D & DESPATCHED FROM WW. 8.3.27. C. to BJ. WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} BYY. 20HP. CONTROLS. FOR MODEL WITH VERTICAL SHUTTERS. X5240 X5250 Your memo. of 28/2/27. I agree with your deductions, and I also prefer N. scheme 2362. Probably this has the same imperfections as the main control tubes down the column, but if it is thought that the two tubes will give friction and binding in production I think at once we should use a thinner outer tube, and two thin bronze bushes with small collars at each end. It is so easy in this case that my impression is it is worth it, especially as we are saving much by this modification. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
