RR H. {Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 135 A (100 T.) (S.F. 846 6-8-19) G. {Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 2460 To H1 (Lab.) from Bn. {W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} RE NON-FREEZING MIXTURES. I attach letter from Mr. Lewis relating to tri-methylene-glycol. Have you any knowledge of this compound? If not could you undertake some tests on the samples, as a really satisfactory non-freezing cooling medium is badly wanted. It may be still more urgently required when we standardise the Thermostat. If you could undertake some tests please obtain samples direct. It is important of course that the cooling medium should have a Specific Heat of not much less than water, that it should be stable, and that it should have no harmful effect on the materials with which it comes in contact.
