Dear Sir,

I havefor disposal the English rights of a new Bearing Metal which has very distinct advantages particularly for aeroplane work.

I am sending you a sample bearing made of the metal in question, the advantages claimed being as follows :-

1. The metal is an alloy of aluminium, copper and lead, cast by a secret process and graphited to obtain better adherence of the oil film.

2. The weight of the bearing is considerably reduced.

3. Better conduction of heat and therefore lower temperature of the bearing.

4. Lower melting point than bronze.

5. Greater resistance against high pressure.

6. Minimum wear.

7. Cheaper production than bronze.

With regard to the last named advantage the actual cost of the material is higher than bronze, but taking into consideration the lighter weight, the cost per bearing is lower.

The business could be negotiated in either of three methods :

1. Acquisition of the licence to manufacture outright.
