Dear Mr. Bailey

Road Springs - sec. 7020/20

At the time I left Derby Mx{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}' department had a number of sheets on road springs for PII, which were to have been revised to show:

(a) Types of complete cars.
(b) Average weights of these types front and rear (in lbs.)
(c) Road springs assigned to each type, with the actual stiffness (or rating) of each spring.

I did not urge this matter before leaving, because the whole road spring programme was under discussion, especially the proposal to use much softer front springs if possible, together with more front damping.

It seems to me that this matter should by now have reached a condition where you could let me have this information.

We need it badly in order to send London our chassis erection particulars for the L.H. PII order.

Will you send us this at your earliest convenience.

Yours very truly,

Maurice Olley
