Oy3 - G 8921 Sheet #4. He noticed no more difficulty in running or starting with this than with ordinary gasoline, and actually raced and passed a Packard roadster at 65 m.p.h. when using the mixture. If this shows anything it is that the fineness of spraying of our carburetter must be very good, and the American gasoline very bad. In fact I think that no hot spot or other scheme should be considered final on our car, unless it can be shown that the device will run the car without excessive dilution or carbon deposit on straight kerosene fuel. Dorris claims to be able to do this, and others have made the same claim, though they have not stated the miles per gallon obtained. Unfortunately I cannot tell you what American kerosene is, except that the gasoline fractions which distil over above 300°F.{Mr Friese} are looked upon as being kerosene dilution. Oy.
