I do not understand why I have had no reply to my memo. asking what parts of the new engine are likely to fail.

It seems to me that in the Experimental Department the spirit, which years ago enabled the Works to turn out a special engine for the 2,000 Miles Trial of the R.A.C. in a very short time, has been replaced by one which endeavours to lay down that nothing new can be done except over a very prolonged period.
