D1/DL. 16th June 1930. C.J. Worcester, Esq., The Homestead, Portishead, Somerset. Dear Mr. Worcester, I received your letter of yesterday's date and am glad to hear that you all arrived safely at Bristol yesterday. Mr. Hives has brought down to me the Deed Box with all Mr. Halliwell's papers in, which appear to be in order and will be easily dealt with. As promised I will go into the matter of obtaining Letters of Administration in favour of Mrs. Halliwell, but, as I pointed out, the matter is sufficiently complicated even in the best cases, to employ a Solicitor and it is the cheapest in the end, so as not to make any mistake. I shall be glad if, after the funeral, you will kindly send me a copy of the death certificate, as this will be wanted for various reasons. I understand from Mr. Hives this morning that some reference was made to a policy which Mr. Halliwell took out, which, in effect meant, in the case of the death of Mr. Halliwell, the mortgage on the house at Mickleover would be automatically paid for, but there does not appear amongst the papers to be any such policy and I shall be glad if you will kindly let me know as soon as possible more details of this, if it is thought there is a policy in existence. I have communicated with the Derbyshire Building Society and they tell me that they have no such document. Yours faithfully, | ||
