Dear Mr. Robotham,

Thank you for your letter of the 21st inst., and confirming our telephone conversation to-day, we are arranging to make up 6 sample HD{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}15. plugs with stepped mica. We are fitting these plugs with two-point spark gaps similar to the X309. This enables us to slightly reduce the length of the centre electrode, which will enable the plug to withstand slightly more heat. These plugs we will send direct to Mr. T.W. Hancock in France.

We are also making one dozen 14 m/m plugs which will have a heat factor intermediate between the HD{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}15. and the X306. These we will forward to you as soon as possible. These will also be fitted with two-point spark gap similar to the X309. These should give you an entire range of plugs from which you will be able to choose the most suitable type for this particular engine.

Sincerely yours,

Bernard Hopps
