X.1109 INSULATION MATERIALS. X.3445

I am sending you herewith a note received through EWT, from America, reference OY6-G24321. As this appeared to involve matters of principle relating to standardisation, I referred the matter to Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}, particularly as it was also addressed to the Works Committee. Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}, was of the opinion that it was a matter for technical expert opinion, coupled with experimental work and examination of samples, and that when yourself and R, were in a position to express decided opinions with definite information, that the matter should be brought before the Works Committee.

I have written to America, putting the facts of the case before them in this light, so that they are aware of what is happening over here. In the meantime it is an important matter which will require your attention.

It would appear that in any case you would require samples of the various insulating materials, whilst it would also appear necessary to have coils built up with enamelled wire insulation, before we can say much in regard to changing our present method.
