W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham, Esq.,
Rolls Royce, Ltd.,
Derby.

Dear Bill,

Many thanks for your letter. I should have thought that the action of Mr. Armstrong was sufficient to excommunicate him entirely from any dealings with Derby. I can picture the Directors holding a ceremony for the official destruction of his guarantee! In spite of all this, however, I should very much like to try the car, and I will try and get in touch with Mr. Armstrong. Joking apart, the Bentley springing is definitely poor, even Geoffrey admits that the Minx is more comfortable!

I am sorry I shall not see you at Olympia to-morrow, as I should like you to be present to help me in choosing the colour scheme for my new 12 cylinder Lagonda, or should I say straight 8 Sunbeam.

I hope that your friends in Conduit Street will not lie back in their comfortable chairs too long, saying to themselves complacently that they have no need to worry about this competition, because it is quite impossible for anyone to produce anything equal to their product!

Yours sincerely,

Richard.
