- 2 - BY.3/G.19.5.39. (d). Phantom replacement. Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} object of preventing accidental impacts of fair magnitude twisting the rocker shaft. A weak link is being provided by introducing a bend into the cross steering tube. PROGRAMME. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} reported that two Silver Wraiths were instructed with bodies for same of Bentley V.{VIENNA} design, and that the first car would be completed in six weeks. WRAITH REPLACEMENT. The first of these cars had been diverted to test the 8 cylinder engine, and had been thereby turned into Phantom III replacement. It was agreed we build another Wraith replacement to take the six cylinder engine with radiator and bonnet to suit same. The 8 cylinder Wraith (P.III replacement) will be ready for Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} to try out the Monday after Whitsuntide. It will be fitted with the finalised universal gear box. BODY PRODUCTION. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} to arrange for Mr. Green, who has been engaged by Rolls-Royce Ltd. to make a fortnightly report, in order to keep his activity in the forefront. BODY DRAUGHTSMAN. Considerable discussion turned on BY's memo BY.23/G.28.4.39. It was finally accepted that BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} should arrange for Mr. Giles and Mr. Green to meet, get Mr. Green's opinion of his experience, and then the matter could be settled at the next Meeting. BY.{R.W.
