Crankshaft Torsional Frequency 3 litre 6 cyl. Engine. We are proposing to make a 3 litre 6 cyl. engine as an insurance policy against the four 2.8 litre being unsuitable for a R.R. car. We are using the pin dia., the con. rods and the pistons from the 2 litre four cyl. thumpette. We can work on 60% balance as the max. required with the relatively enormous journals. We have asked Spooner to contact with you with a view to your shewing him how to ascertain the crankshaft critical relative to the existing 4 1/4 litre shaft.
