P.III CYLINDER LINERS - E.87890.

We are now in receipt of information that the British Piston Ring Co, Limited, have supplied to us the first quantity of 20 Cylinder Liners against a small trial order which was placed with them some three months ago.

You will recollect that the British Piston Ring Co, Limited, were prepared to supply these liners at a figure which showed a considerable saving over the price quoted by the Sheepbridge Stokes Centrifugal Castings Co, Limited, and in consequence the liners were ordered.

We believe we are correct in saying now that it is considered that still further economies can be affected by machining the liners in our own Works and probably therefore the necessity for trying out these parts from the British Piston Ring Co., does not now arise.

We still suggest however, that it is desirable that at least one set of these liners should be tried out by the Experimental Dept. and we shall be glad if arrangements can be made accordingly.
