X.4613. To LHS.{Lord Herbert Scott} from EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} SECRET. c. to LHS.{Lord Herbert Scott} EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/24.5.24. RE. 40/50 SCUTTLE DASH ISOLATION. X.4613. We understand that you consider that on some case (40/50s), when the scuttle and dash are totally separated, following on present practice, the movement relatively is excessive. Would you please fit up a car with two upper attachment bolts only, using G.11. pieces thus :- SEE ORIGINAL FOR SKETCH. The wooden armature of the scuttle should be reinforced by a thin sheet steel plate to prevent match-boxing. Should a deeper rubber washer be required between the dash and the scuttle, the wooden armature can be recessed. A report on this matter as soon as possible would be valuable to us, as we wish to give this information on the chassis parts of 40/50 and EAC.111. chassis. and also to design a complete scheme for EAC.11.
