X3594 Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY2/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 24.2.26. ACCESSORIES. Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} has submitted a special form of petrol valve which is supposed to be exceptionally good from the point of view of tightness. Personally, I do not see any advantage in this over an ordinary taper tap, as it has to slide against frictional resistance in precisely the same way that the taper tap slides over its joint-making surfaces. I am inclined to think this valve will gradually score and leakage occur in a very similar manner to that which occurrs with our present taps. There is no reason, however, why it should not be tried out. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} RH{R. Hollingworth} | ||
