EAC. ENGINE - OVER-RUN VIBRATIONS.

We have carried out tests with longer connecting
rods (Hawk engine type) fitted to the above engine.

The rods were changed over twice & in order to
confirm the results.

The longer rods do make the engine appreciably
smoother on retard, but there was still left a slight
period of much reduced amplitude at the same speed.

We are preparing to test the longer rods in
conjunction with the stiffer engine coupling shaft on
a second EAC. engine which is rather a worse example
for over-run vibrations.
