MINUTES OF CONFERENCE OF JUNE 13th, 1921.

FUSE HOLDERS IN SWITCHBOX AND JUNCTION BOX.

The fuse holder in the switchbox, as well as the junction box, is now being modified and will shortly be delivered modified according to the new R.R. design.

In connection with the fuse holders already in the junction box and switchbox, it must be remembered that they were submitted originally with the object of containing tinned copper fuse wires, but that this was arbitrarily changed to lead tin allow fuse wire by R.R. in February 1920. Messrs. Lucas pointed out that they have a letter from us instructing them to fit lead tin allow fuses throughout; whereas their standard practice is tinned copper. This is so.

Messrs. Lucas, notwithstanding this, are prepared to replace the fuse holders with others of our design, but as regards our design Messrs. Lucas recommend that the screwed contact holding the fuse wire down should be supplemented by a spring washer, or its equivalent. They will submit a sample to illustrate their point.
