PRESENT CHASSIS WITH
EAC.11. ENGINE.

In reply to your CJZ/E11.11.24., I am very pleased to hear 'V' series is to be prepared for EAC. engine.

In preparing this I have endeavoured to use everything possible that has been purchased for the present model and also not to disturb the coachbuilders in the least.

(1) Present dash and bonnet.

(2) Same height of radiator (to suit bonnet) i.e. only slight modifications embodying a water outlet on both sides to suit either engine, otherwise same bottom tank, but owing to cross member to carry EAC. engine, (front end) the radiator cannot drop in the frame quite so much - about 3/8" less, therefore matrix 3/8" less high. (Sent to Derby).

(3) Not EAC.11. front cross member but present one plus a pressed sheet metal one under radiator to carry front end of EAC. engine, and radiator. (Sent to Derby).

(4) New autovac tank because of lower bonnet and narrower dash than EAC.11. (Design in hand at WW.)

(5) Present steering, but modified in the tube lengths (a) so that same can be moved forwards and downwards so as to clear EAC. engine foot, and be carried by (b) EAC. engine mounting by a special flange forging. (Both (a) and (b) sent to Derby.)

(6) EAC. engine not to be altered more than absolutely necessary. Magneto pushed forward to clear present steering as mentioned in (5) but trying to use present crankchamber exactly by attaching bracket.

(7) We have just finished a short double fabric magneto drive which is adjustable for timing, because magneto must not extend more than 7" behind centre line of engine. (Design will go to Derby this week.)

(8) We use EAC. dynamo and Goshawk wiring scheme. contd :- We are using present starter.

(9) Owing to EAC. clutch being used, the clutch pedal contd :-
