Page 2 Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd. In view of this failure we do not feel very happy about the inner joint as it cannot be finally inspected when the ball valve is in position. It is also possible that the leak hole might become blocked up, and although this could be checked, it could not be remedied without removing the ball valve assembly. We are at the moment at a loss to know what to suggest, as we know that it is your wish to keep as near as possible to standard. We are carrying out certain experiments and will write to you again to-morrow. We also acknowledge receipt of your letter dated October 6th (Ref: Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.6/MH{M. Huckerby}) asking for this thermostat to be returned and for a standard pattern Vauxhall Thermostat with a special setting. As it would not be possible to subject these thermostats to our standard 12 hour pressure test if they were sent to you to-day, they will be forwarded to-morrow by Express Post. Yours truly, THE BRITISH THERMOSTAT CO.LTD. W.Martin-Hurst. Director. | ||
