Power Conditions.    K.111.MS.607.    K.111.MS.39.

F.T. Power at 2250 R.P.M.    631.    566.

Rated Alt. Power at 2250 R.P.M.    590 at 2000ft. (Est.)    530. at 2000 Ft.

Rated Alt. Power at 2250 R.P.M.    530. at 5000ft. (Est.)    -

The outstanding feature of the rating test is the fact that the former Rated Alt. Power of 530 BHP. can be maintained at an additional height of 3,000 ft.

(2) Although it was considered that the fitting of other supercharger gears might be necessary for subsequent rating tests of Goshawk ll engines, this test has shewn that the engine fitted with a Goshawk supercharger and standard Kestrel MS. gears, develops 685 BHP. at 3000 ft. at 2600 R.P.M., which represents a decided increase in power at a higher international R.P.M., at a convenient operational altitude.

(3) The condition of the new reduction gear assembly revealed during strip examination following the above tests, forms the subject of a separate report.
