X4261 We have received information that the top leaf has broken on one of the latest type front road springs with the reduced initial camber. We should say the car has run about 5000 miles since these springs were fitted. The whole of the running since the springs were fitted has been done by Amateur drivers at normal speeds over average French roads. The reports show that the front springs bumping on the buffers has been a rare occurrence. We feel we have got to do something to increase the life of the front springs; at present they do not appear to compare with the results we get on the 40/50 HP. over the same roads. There are no experiments in hand at present to increase the life of the front road springs. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
