It is understood that the only trouble with these is that the charging current at high speed drops too much.

Should we require a larger current always it seems only necessary to adopt a slightly engine speed for cutting in.

It being realised that heat of dynamo makes the current limit so that we must wind with larger diameter wire on the eamature and fewer turns.

This is permissible because the top gear Ratio is lower than when our present standard was fixed, and also cars have so improved that their speed even in towns is higher.

It will be remembered that we now have two armatures and that we might make our standard the onethat gives the larger amount.
