Re: Coupe Bodies.

With reference to your Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/2/R.22.7.39., I quite appreciate your desire to try to improve the Coupe body on our chassis. We have always felt that it is not a very desirable car to sell as it is, owing to body troubles, but the demand necessitates laying down such cars.

I am attaching a list of various types of cars and should be glad if you would let me know if any of these are likely to suit. The net prices quoted are trade prices but of course there is always a possibility of getting them cheaper.

There appears to be some difficulty about getting pukker two-door foursome Coupes, most of the bodies of this type are English coachwork. The Americans have only specialised in two-seaters and dicky or what we call two-seater with occasional four without dicky. If, however, you have a four-seater body with the same room as on the Bentley, then it amounts to a four-door body such as our Allweather. Would you give me an idea as to what type of body and price you have in mind. I am making further inquiries and will keep you advised.

In the meantime, I am looking forward to seeing you and perhaps you would let me know whether Thursday or Friday would suit you best. I can get up on the early train and leave that evening.
