Attention of Mr.C.Ward.

Dear Sirs,

Re: Coupe - Bentley 5.

We wish to confirm our Mr.Evernden's conversation with you re the front end shake on a Coupe body B.5. chassis 10.B.5.

You will have heard that the work you have done already to this body has caused little or no change in the front end shake.

Our Exp. Dept. wish to make a test to discover what rigidity can be achieved in the scuttle framework at the screen section, because they know that if this section can be made as rigid as it was on 10.B.5. when a diagonal bracing tube was applied the shake phenomenon is obviated.

We shall be sending to you a chassis frame equipped with a sheet metal dash. To this we wish you to build a primative box section framework representing the screen section as illustrated in the attached sketch. The whole should be produced in sheet steel S.W.G.16 and be bolted to the chassis frame.

When this is completed we will visit your Works and make the rigidity tests.

Cont'd.....
