ORIGINAL

Copy to BJ. re. EAC.7. TOOL-BOXES. X7580

We send herewith N. sch. 2352. (2 sheets) shewing the toolbox which we wish to be fitted to both running-boards of the 1st. EAC. 7. car.

We have designed this box on the lines of one made by Maythorn & Co. which R.{Sir Henry Royce} liked.

The boxes will hold all the tools except the jack and pump, which will be housed in the body, and such spares as may be carried under the front seat.

We have not had time to design trays, so the tools should be put into felt rolls, and packed to prevent rattles.

The sch. for the valance - N. sch. 2251. - has not been altered in any way.

The aluminium step edgings can be obtained from The British Aluminium Co. Ltd. 21 Barwick St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} Birmingham, or Adelaide House, London, and are:-

A.No.88. Data Sheet 201 - in their catalogue.

S.M.M.& T. Prov: Std. No.28. fig 6. which they will supply.

The box lid{A. J. Lidsey} handles are obtainable from Stedall & Co Ltd. Broad St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} Bloomsbury. W.C.2., and are No.9682 - Nickel Finish.

We have sent these drawings to RG.{Mr Rowledge} preparatory to sending to R.{Sir Henry Royce}, but in view of the urgency suggest that manufacture should begin without waiting for final approval.

[Handwritten]
NSch 2353 also herewith, is merely an alternative construction which we are sending for R's remarks.
