SHOCK ABSORBERS. X4426 3461

We do not consider we should offer any more material for the present 40/50 fornt shock absorber. We recommend that when we have used up our existing stock of 40/50 shock absorbers we should adopt the front shock absorber as used on Goshawk-11. The shock absorber on Goshawk-11 is working with more load than we are using on the 40/50. The range of movement is approximately the same. The ball joints are better than the 40/50 and the shock absorber alround should be less costly.

We do not consider there is any excuse for perpetuating two designs of front shock absorber which have to do practically identically the same work.

We have asked Mr. Booth to look into the question of whether we could fit the existing Goshawk rear shock absorber to the 40/50 chassis. We expect, of course, we may have to alter the length of the lever connecting tube but we think the same argument, as regards the front, applies to the rear, also.

We do not wish to fit "Hartfords" on the 40/50 whilst we use our own on the Goshawk.
