CENTRAL OILING - BOTH CHASSIS.

We should realise that with central oiling we cannot expect to replace hand oiling entirely. We want it to do the oiling so as to allow the car to go for a month without hand oiling.

We look upon 10,000 miles as a usual years' work, so that we expect to hand-oil and examine the car once a month, but we assume that if it is neglected for 3 months when not used more than 500 miles per month the car will not come to any harm.

My own impression is that we must do the shackles, but we want to avoid carrying the oil on to the axles. There is no need to oil the fan bearing and the magneto. It may be necessary on 'SS{S. Smith}' to oil the starter motor bearings.
