X5520. To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re Controllable Shock Dampers. Copy to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}4/E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} 8.3.32. X7520. Thanks for Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}6/MJ.4.3.32. I think your suggestion is the right one, i.e. not to spend time and energy on the experimental scheme referred to but to tackle R's scheme which I understand is designed for J.III and which I note can be utilised for P.II and the 20/25. I think this is doubly right because, although R.{Sir Henry Royce} wired us as per the telegram quoted in my former memo., I received a letter from him afterwards in which it was quite evident that he was not at all in favour of the leak control scheme.
