8th. September, 1937.

Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
DERBY.

Dear Sirs,

Your letter of the 7th. inst., regarding cooling system thermostats has been passed by our Mr. A.{Mr Adams} Taub for the attention of the writer.

We have certainly fitted large numbers of Instruments manufactured by the British Thermostat Co., to our 12-14 and 25 H.P. cars. In the main, they have proved reasonably satisfactory.

At the present time, however, we are actively engaged in bringing the fitting in question up to the standard of reliability and performance of the Harrison 'stat manufactured by the Harrison Radiator Corporation of the U.S.A. This latter instrument we have adopted as our standard of quality.

Naturally we have acquired much experience in the fitting of these thermostats and the problems relating to their use and operation, as a result of incorporating many thousands in our products. Should you, therefore, desire any further information which we may be able to give, the writer would be prepared to discuss the subject personally with your representative.

Yours faithfully,
for VAUXHALL MOTORS LIMITED,

[Signature]

A.W. LARKING,
Asst. Power Unit Engineer.
