Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}8/R.18.11.36. Dictated 12.11.36. PHANTOM III EXHAUST SYSTEM. 'C' Series instructions for material should have been completed on September 12th. The first chassis is to go to test on March 8th; as a matter of fact no material has been ordered for 'C' Series so far. Our recommendations are that material for the existing type of exhaust system should be ordered for the first 100 which, at 10 per week output represents 2 1/2 months. The only difference between this material and that at present on test is that if they find a material saving can be obtained by nickel plating the lagging, this can be utilised. In six weeks' time from now we will tell them whether to order some of the existing system, or the new system, as per attached memo. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
