For the attention of Mr. Palmer. Dear Sirs, Thank you for the letter of the 28th October, I am returning an accelerator pump piston that has failed on a Phantom III carburetter No.0061. This piston has a ball valve loose inside and is not spring loaded. Will you kindly inspect same and let me have your comments with replacement. We also find that the choke control on these carburetters is badly out of alignment. This is caused primarily by the bolt holes of the main flange being spot faced. You will recall that there is a bracket mounted on the offside. According to our Mr. Pearson of the Design Office this operation of machining was not called for originally.
