Dear Sirs, With reference to your letter of the 15th. instant with regard to amperehour meters, we have noted your requirements and would suggest that we arrange to supply you with one of our Type N.F. meters of 10 amperes capacity fitted with our standard dial scaled up to 100 amperehours. In order to meet the conditions specified in your letter it would be necessary for us to place the red empty hand at a position on the scale corresponding to 63 amperehours, from which point charging would commence. It should be appreciated that the scaling of the Type N.F. meter is based on dis-charge amperehours when the black hand rotates in a clockwise direction and charge amperehours when rotating in the reverse direction, the battery being read as fully charged when the hand reaches the zero point on the scale. We note from your letter that it would be unnecessary for us to include an over-charge device in this meter and we have to confirm that we could arrange to omit this if so desired. Futher, it is our normal practice to supply each meter fitted with a quick make contact in the register that makes when the fully charged position on the scale has been reached.
