RECEIVED JUL 26 1920 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG23.7.20. X.3500 RE DELAGE CAR. Mr. Cowan has been able to obtain on loan a 6-cylinder Delage chassis. We have had this at the Works for two days. The chassis is the latest type fitted with brakes on all four wheels operated by foot pedals - the countershaft brake operated by hand lever. The following are particulars we were able to obtain of this car:- ENGINE It is a 6-cylinder engine - 80 mm. bore - 150 mm stoke. The induction passages are cast integral in the cylinder block. Two Zenith Carburetters are fitted. It has "D" headed cylinders without detachable heads. The exhaust Manifolds are bolted to the cylinder block. Compression by gauge is 73 lbs. Compression ratio is 4 to 1. Capacity in the combustion chamber 15 cu.ins. Swept volume of cylinders - 46.2 cu.ins. On the exhaust side of the engine is fitted the Starter Motor and Dynamo. The Dynamo is driven off the front engine gears. The Starter operates on to the flywheel. The magneto is fitted in the front of the engine - the drive being at right-angles to the crankshaft.
