X4050. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/AD. October 23rd, 1931. The Dunlop Rubber Co.Ltd. Fort Dunlop, Erdington, Birmingham. For the attention of Mr. Healey. Dear Sirs, You will remember that some time ago you submitted to us two tyres having a tread that was known as the Canadian Dunlop pattern. We made some superficial tests on these tyres and on the whole considered them to be promising. We are now anxious to obtain a set of 6 tyres in this pattern for test on the Continent, either on the Phantom II in which case the tyre size will be 7.00" x 20 or on the 25 HP. in which case the tyre size will be 6.00" x 19". In both cases the tyres referred to are Fort. We shall be glad to know if you are in a position to supply us with these tyres and if so when we can expect delivery. We have a 25 HP. car about to start a Continental test and should it be possible to get these covers in a reasonably short period we could undoubtedly obtain some reliable information on them with the minimum delay. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
