I am informed by the Secretary, O.B. that you have been asking for 2,000 rounds of .55 inch Service ammunition to carry out firing trials with this calibre in your .5 inch machine gun. I am directed to say that no requirement exists for a development of this nature, and it is requested, therefore, that any work which may be in hand on this development should be stopped.
