X217. To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} E.6/HP.20.9.33. c. for. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Sft.{Mr Swift} Bentley Solid Crankshaft. We attach herewith memo Sft.{Mr Swift}4/BH.19.9.33, from which you will see that Sft.{Mr Swift} is all in favour of forming the balance weights solid with the crankshaft, which they estimate would be at least 20% cheaper to produce. It is, therefore, all a question now of the possibilities of the forging. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
