X 651. RE/JBD.{John B. Dixon - Fuel Systems}2/LH.{Mr Haworth} Messrs. S.Smith & Sons, Ltd., Cricklewood Works, London. N.W.2. 6th. October 1937. For the attention of Mr. Russell. Dear Sirs, We are despatching to you one 18-gallon Petrol tank. One of these tanks was sent to you some months ago to have the petrol gauge calibrated. We find this is not accurate, the instrument reading full when there are only 16-gallons in the tank, and off the scale when the tank is full. Will you please re-calibrate the instrument in this tank, and see that all future supplies of this instrument (our piece number Fd.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}738) are accurate. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
