Having investigated the coiled pigtail carbon assembly which has been proposed for fitment to Phantom lll Switchboxes, we feel that this is quite an inexpensive but effective way of overcoming these breakages. There is just one point, however, and that being, the liability for the coiled connector to become entangled in the coil spring although the test report Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HO.8/JH.10.9.37 proves no sign of fraying after 15,000 operations. We recommend this modification be adopted as soon as supplies of the new carbons can be obtained in view of the failures experienced in customers' hands. RHQ/J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Smedley. | ||
