X4400 Ds.(F.W.) from BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} C.E. Booth. BY7-P18.11.21. RECEIVED NOV 18 1921 REAR SPRINGS & FITTINGS. Referring to "N" Scheme 926 and dealing particularly with the fitting of the Enots Lubricator as shown on the inside of the front spring eye, it appears to me that this is absolutely inaccessible without getting on ones back under the footboard. It would appear on the face of it that it would be better to fix the lubricator in the same axis as the pin on the outside of the spring and leave a small opening in the valance through which to couple up the Pressure Pump to the lubricator. It is obvious that either the nut on the spring bolt or the lubricator must be inaccessible, but since the latter is required to be used regularly during the running of the car it appears to me that the latter should be put in the most convenient position.
