Contd. -2- Since our return from W.W. we have taken out the engine and gear box unit which was running on the car, in order to go into the question of - why the clutch jaggers and the reason why the top speed gear works out. We have fitted into the chassis the second Goshawk engine unit and gear box. We have tested this on the road. We find that the crankshaft periods are practically the same in amplitude and come on at the same speeds as on the other engine. We find that the clutch works so very much better; it is only under great provocation that one can make it jagger the slightest amount. The clutch is the same as on the previous engine as regards material, spring pressure, and the driven member. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
