BENTLEY UNITS FOR REPLACEMENTS AT KINGSBURY.

(1) 3 1/2 Litre. B.11 and C.10.

In reply to the memo By.6/G.3.11.37 a small bore Bentley unit could be made up out of 2 of our old experimental units.

These are B.11 and C.10; the crankcase of B.11 has been carved about for new starter motor position, but is otherwise complete. By using the crankcase and lower half off C.10 the unit would be complete.

B.11 is at present being used for clutch engagement tests but will be available in a fortnights time.

The necessary parts will be handed to Repair.

(2) 4 1/4 Litre. B.18. being built up for school.

We have a large bore unit at present dismantled in the shop (B.18). This unit is minus a crankshaft, existing having failed on last bench test. The pistons are also special and are to be retained.

The unit otherwise is complete and spare.

Hand to Repair in pieces to fit a crank.

(3) 4 1/4 Litre. B.22. In repair for Kingsbury.

The above unit which is in 3.B.IV is to be replaced by B.19 unit and will therefore be a spare when removed from the car.

This engine has Packard type of crank and will be removed.
