X4021. Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/Dm.{D. Munro} from EFC; EFCLO/ADL6.5.30. Referring to the attached memo ref. C/WFH/CAT/MML 2.5.30. we only asked Messrs.North for one spanner. In regard to the error of this being sent for the B.T.H. SC.12-7 & 9 this was due to an unfortunate error in our original letter. A copy of our reminder letter is attached, from which you will see that only one spanner was asked for. It transpires however, that it is very useful to have all three spanners. One has been handed for the tool kit for Sir Henry Segrave's "R" engine, one to the experimental shop and one we ourselves have retained. In regard to the price charged for these, we think this is abnormally excessive and we would like you to query the matter with them. Our impression of the price would have been about this amount for all three spanners. In fact, we even expected that in view of the suggestion of these spanners being our own Messrs.North might have provided us with them free of charge. EFC. Copy of letter attached. | ||
