B.50 INDUCTION SYSTEM.

With reference to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/G.23.2.38., we note that you have completed a scheme for a single Stromberg carburetter for this engine.

We are at present carrying out a series of tests in which we are comparing single and double S.U. carburetters, and single, double and duplex Stromberg carburetters. We anticipate that in three to four weeks we shall be able to assess the respective merits of all these with regard to--

(1) Fuel economy.

(2) Performance.

(3) Price.

Until we have done this, we should like to refrain from making anything for B.50 engine. As soon as we see that the progress of the main engine necessitates the induction system being manufactured in order to keep pace with it, we will summarise the position so that HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} can be instructed.
