To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to BJ. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X5240 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/M.4.2.27. 20 HP. VERTICAL SHUTTERS. X.8240 (crossed out) X5240 X.8430 (crossed out) X5430 We send herewith N.sch.2354 shewing the mixture control for use in conjunction with the above shutters arranged on the steering column. (Drg. sent on Sat. last.) It will be seen that we have suggested certain modifications to the throttle and ignition hand levers with a view to flattening the whole gear, and prevent it sticking too far above the steering wheel. We have not had R's comments on this point. It will also be noticed that we have suggested the double nut and tab washer for locking the stationary tube should be replaced by a single nut and tab washer since it seems to be possible to cut the tab washer grooves in the taper fitting in any case. It was fear of these grooves weakening the piece that originally suggested the double nut. We are taking advantage of the room saved on the engine controls which we shall be sending you in the course of a day or so. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
