R.{Sir Henry Royce} FROM E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} C. to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} C. to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} X5010 E3/M22.1.31. JAPAN 3 - GENERAL SCHEME OF ENGINE - LeC. 2853. X.5770 X.5010. We have not hastened to send you a print of the above as we considered that practically all the information shewn was settled. As however a revision of certain featres such as shaft diameters may be called for we attach a print herewith shewing the design enlarged to the 3.400 bore. We have suggested that RM.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} should by making similar experiments with the two 25HP. crankshafts at Derby to those he has carried out on Phantom. Regarding the cylinder skirts shewn on LeC.2853. Derby have confirmed that these can be machined as shewn on the present 25HP. cylinder centres. | ||
