To Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}

The car has been in continuous use during the week end for demonstrations. With the exception of a gear lever rattle which I have cured there have been no complaints & Mr Slater considers this the finest car he has ever driven.

I received your memo re the carb & luffing up this morning. As you will gather from my reports there has not been any opportunity for me to run the car so I fitted the spring as I felt this would cure the luffing, and from past experience would not bring any other troubles.

The car was luffing in Derby on the Sat before I left & on the Sunday was quite bad. I did not notice any change when I filled up with Shell, nor has the French petrol made any difference.
