The oil comes to the upper tank through a heating pad on the exhaust pipe which heats it to about 200°F.{Mr Friese}

In the upper tank it is subjected to vacuum, and every means is taken to slow down the operation of the device and bubble as much air as possible through it during the operation of "dumping" into the lower tank.

The makers say that any simple form of condenser on the suction line will prove the great quantity of heavy ends and water which is accumulated.

The filter in the lower tank removes all dirt, carbon, and "sludge", from the oil.

The device operates with a high vacuum (as when the engine is idling) not more than 12 times per hour.

Thus a portion of all the oil all the time is being completely filtered and has dilution held down to a maximum of about 10%.

We are going to try this device this winter and see whether it does what it claims.

Yours very truly,

Maurice Olley
