Dear Sir(s),

The attached leaflet (G.T.1125) describes a new instrument for measuring the hardness of rubber articles and the thickness of rubber tensile test pieces of the ring type.

As examples to illustrate the practical importance of hardness measurements on rubber we need only mention such widely used articles as rubber soles and heels, flooring, shock-absorber blocks, etc., used in motor and railway vehicles and aircraft, and the rubber-covered rollers used in many industries.

The instrument has been designed with great care to secure convenience in application and perfection in performance. The defects of earlier forms of gauges for similar purposes have been eliminated. The R.A.E.R.M. Hardness and Thickness Gauge is an instrument of high precision and robust construction, capable of easy and rapid application and reproducing its readings reliably.

Please consider whether the gauge can be profitably utilised in your test room. We shall be pleased to receive any comment upon the instrument or to provide you with any additional information in regard to it.

Yours faithfully,
GRIFFIN & TATLOCK, LIMITED.

J D Tatlock
Managing Director.

P.S.

The Griffin-Sutton Bomb Calorimeter described in pamphlet G.T.1082 enclosed is now made in a type of stainless steel particularly fitted for the determination of sulphur as in filled rubber.
